Our second night in Coos Bay and we choose this restaurant. Service was great. Selection of food was good. All three of us had burgers, which were prepared nicely and good in size. For just someone traveling through, we thought the place was great and would definitely recommend to other folks. Thanks for feeding these hungry travelers!!!

This place was recommended to us by our hotel and I have to say we were a little skeptical about thus place when we first arrived. However, we were pleasantly surprised! We ate here two nights in a row during our stay in town. The wait staff were friendly and accommodating and the food was excellent. Would definitely recommend this place!

Going through coos bay, Oregon along the coast on our way home to California. Wanted something family friendly with our two kids. Food pretty good! Prime rib was tasty, Debbie our waitress was fast and friendly. The IPA was bomb out of Eugene. Would def go back to this place love the casual atmosphere!!!

For the quality you get, the price is a bit high. At the prices they're charging (which are comparable to good steak house prices in Portland,) I expect them to practically be bringing the cow live through the back door. Instead the beef is either farmed and shipped in, or the quality of farming around Marshfield has gone way down. The place is at a hotel, not a show stopper for me, but kind of a red flag. Parking is along the street at a point where people are driving faster then they should (I'll admit that I'm among them.) The floor is strewn (not liberally) with used peanut shells of which there is a bowl given to you at the table for you to munch on until the main course comes by. The steak was actually cooked quite well. It just didn't have a lot of flavor. For the amount of fat on it, it was pretty dull. It didn't seem like it had even been cooked with any salt or pepper. The salad on the side was supposedly made with Romaine lettuce, but it tasted more like iceberg to me, and the bacon crumbles on top literally did not taste like bacon at all. At the price/quality point we would have been better off going into North Bend and hitting up the steak and salad bar chain that is located there.

Quick service, salad was fresh buns were hot and soft yum. Appetizer was served right away. Dip and chips were fresh and hot. Steak and shrimp were cooked perfect. Great dinner will come back

The food and service here was very good this evening. I ordered the prime rib and it was cooked just how I liked it. The portions were large, including the dinner salad. The waiter checked on us several times and refilled our drinks without having to be asked.

We stopped there on a lark... Wasn't sure that my wife could eat there because of being a vegetarian... The waitstaff was fantastic... They found things for her to eat... And we had a delightful evening... it was so good that we stopped at their other restaurants in Roseburg Oregon and had another great meal... Informal, friendly, good food...

The first time we came to eat I wanted ribs and they were out. This was right after they first opened, getting the bugs worked out I guess. Decided to give them a second chance and was not disappointed in the least. The prime rib was huge and very lean. Cod with shrimp topping cooked perfect. The deep fried shrimp should have their own entre they were that good. However I was most impressed with the tnt burger. Its texture was like it was coarse ground on premises. I am a chef from SF and was pleased with whole meal. Our waitress Debbie was very friendly and on top of refills ,boxes to go. Would definitely go back. They redeemed themselves from my first visit.

Being the 3rd of July, we were smelling bbq all day, so were in the mood. Came here on a casino's employee recommendation. Was just ok. I had the half rack of baby back ribs and while, yes, they were falling off the bone, they were not tender at all. K's steak was ok, just not very flavorful. Server was very good; delightful young man very eager to please. Margarita was weak and served in a mason jar; made it hard to drink without the straw ( I love the salt). The one star of the meal were the Cowboy Eggrolls - major yum.

It has been awhile since we have eaten here and it was very good ! I had the peppercorn ranch chicken breast with a delicious salad and huge baked potato. Hubby had a steak with pepper jack cheese and onions. Very tasty and steak was tender and juicy. Prices are kind of high but food was good and we were stuffed ! Those homemade yeast rolls are amazing. Service was pleasant as well.

Hey OK so my new (to me 1990 Ninja) roasted an alternator belt and I was stranded about 50 miles south of Coos Bay. Blew a cool 2 hundo on a tow back to town(actually to Hondaworld 5+stars for sure, check other review), stayed at the recently refurbished Super 8(also highly recommended) and ate next door. Great BBQ, as I lived for a good bit in NC and so know of what I so speak. Family owned and operated, owners daughter is beautiful charming and a great server, pricing is well more than fair, and again: GREAT BBQ! well worth your time and hard earned dime, not many left like this folks! Don't know who or why others had problems but I guess that's how sizzler keeps on business... Shame..

Below average, it shouldn't be called steakhouse. We ordered two ribeye steaks, $28 each. We got a big piece of meat, edible, but nothing like a proper streak. If it had been $18-20 and they hadn't called themselves "steakhouse", maybe I wouldn't have complained too much. Don't expect too much from this place. I guess chicken or other stuff may be good, but don't take steaks, they are not worth it and overpriced.

There is not much to offer at coos bay for dining. This place is at a motel, by the way. I did not expect a whole lot but my steak was better than expected. It was nicely medium rare and nicely seasoned. The ribs were tender the sauce was too sweet for my taste (just a personal preference).

My husband and I stayed at the super 8 which is attached to the Rodeo Steakhouse and the first thing that caught our eye was BBQ Ribs. After going to Memphis and having some of the best BBQ ribs ever at Marlowe's on Elvis Presley Blvd we have since had to try any place that advertised BBQ Ribs, so after seeing that the Rodeo had ribs we were out the door and walked over to the restaurant to try them out. We ordered the full rack with intentions to share and it came with 2 sides so we both chose the chili which was not bad at all. The ribs were as exclaimed fall off the bone with a great flavor and if and when we ever get back to the Coos Bay area we will no doubt go back to the Rodeo for the ribs. Although they closed at 9pm which we thought was kind of early, they were very accommodating and stayed open a bit longer for us and a couple of other patrons who were enjoying the food and the company of the bartender as well, she was very nice and made us a couple of very good Long Islands, they also had peanuts at the bar to munch on while waiting for our meal and you can even throw the shells on the floor, there was also talk about the place being haunted by a ghost who has freaked a few people who work there out, maybe this is why they close early.

I had to ask a second time where my drink was. The salad came out before my glass of wine. The prime rib was cooked to perfection and was quite delicious. I have noticed most restaurants are automatically serving margarine and when I asked for real butter my server quickly found some. Server was friendly and apologetic about my missing glass of wine.

After a couple of months of seeing the place busy for lunch and dinner, we finally decided to give it a try. The whole peanuts and shells on the floor remind me of Roadhouse Grill, enjoyed snacking on them before our food came. The portions were huge. The husband enjoyed their steak and baked potato. I had their whiskey bbq burger with bacon. While the fries weren't that great I really enjoyed the burger. Sat in the bar for a change of pace with an incredibly friendly and attentive bartender.

Been there twice nothing too incredibly bad but no reason to go back. For someone picky about where the meat they are eating (like us) comes from this isn't the place for us. Probably a decent option if you are staying in the adjoining super hotel.

Fantastic food. I was able to ask a make to order separate from menu choices. Highly recommend. Do not let the outside deter you. Inside is full of good food and people! Have Angela stir up a drink, she makes the best!

Good food, fun atmosphere, and friendly staff. Food arrived in a timely manner, just as ordered, and great taste. Only suggested to our young waitress...step away from the table when customers or filling out the tip. Customers feel rushed when you are standing there waiting, which could result in a smaller tip. You were great and deserve 20%!

So decided to come back here for a second try after getting protein cravings after working out. It didn't help that I was watching a food network show about BBQ. I knew the pulled pork was a no-no, but thought they might have other items such as brisket or chicken. I was promptly greeted and seated. The first thing I noticed was that all the servers were younger, not sure if they had fired all the seniors or I came at the wrong time. The menu is also much smaller, a good thing I guess, they can concentrate preparing the fewer items better. The menu consisted of appetizers (bar-type potato skins, spinach artichoke dip, deep fried pickles, etc), a small selection of soups and salads, a large selection of steaks (which can be paired with shrimp, chicken, and ribs), a large selection of burgers (which can be subbed with chicken or veggie patty), and a small selection of seafood and pastas. There was also an additional one page menu which featured nothing but seafood selections. The only BBQ selection were baby back ribs which were advertised as "fall off the bone tender." I didn't want to risk the ribs, so I opted for a grilled oyster app, a small (1/3 lb vs 1/2 lb) burger, and an ice tea. The waitress never asked how I wanted the burger cooked, so not sure if that is not an option or if she just forgot. Some fresh. hot rolls and whole salted peanuts were brought out as I waited. The oyster were simple: grilled with a bit of butter and served with lemon. It was a nice way to prepare them, the mild flavor of the oyster were not drowned by other ingredients. The burger came out medium well, so it was a bit tough. The special sweet hickory bbq sauce didn't add anything to the burger. The home cut fries were nice and crisp, a little dark so many left in the deep fryer a bit too long, but there was no burnt taste. The worst part of the dinner was the fact my ice tea was only refilled twice. The waitress even walked by once as I was finishing and saw my empty ice tea glass and just kept walking. So even though the decreased the number of items on the menu, it didn't really help the quality of food, IMHO. Any increase in rating due to quality is more than offset by the subpar service this time around.

Wonderful food! Our steaks were tender and cooked perfectly as requested. My sweet potato was huge and complimented by butter and cinnamon sugar. Loved the tender fresh dinner rolls with honey butter. Staff was friendly and attentive. My only negative was related to timing. We had only had a couple of minutes with our salads before our steaks were served. They had to sit at the table chilling until we were ready. Because of a "mishap in the kitchen", our appetizers were served about 5 minutes after the steaks. Will definitely return our next time through Coos Bay.

I have never been disappointed. Friendly well trained staff waiting. It has that outback feel with peanuts and you throw the shells on the ground. Amazingly the floors are still super clean! I like the "positive" feel I always get, from the staffs upbeat conversations, quotes on the walls, and western theme. All the burgers are great, and the salads are great on a hot day with the strawberry lemon aid. I just wish they put sugar on the lemon aid glass rims.

My Bro and I were in the Coos Bay area visiting and while heading back to our posh Best Western digs down the street spotted this establishment a few doors from us. We were promptly greeted by a lovely Hostess/ Waitress named Angy sat in the bar area away from children, I ordered a Bombay Sapphire with a twist and olive on the rocks and my Bro a craft beer. He and I ordered off the Senior menu but don't believe it, his was 6 oz. Sirloin with a baked potato( loaded!) and salad and I a small prime rib ( it was more like 10 oz .) medium rare with the same sides ( and with the super hot horseradish, yum!) There also was fresh rolls with butter which I assume were local made. We finished with some lively banter with Angy who had been in the business for awhile and was definitely "Coos Bay"! I get to coastal Oregon a few times a year and plan to make this a " destination" on my trips. Thanks for a nice evening, Angy!

Went there and it was by far the best steak in coos county. Thick, juicy and full of flavor it was well worth the price. The pink lemonade was a treat and the customer service was great. I also loved the atmosphere and the place was clean.

This place is fine. The cool thing is that you get to eat peanuts and throw them on the floor. The alcohol drinks are good but expensive. The food i wasn't to impressed about but I'm not a big meat Eater so they didn't have alot of options for me. I had a wrap and it was just meh. Boyfriend had a hamburger and said it was fine but nothing to rave about. It's very hot in there and they won't open any doors for air to flow thru. The waitresses aren't very helpful and i felt rushed.

Delicious dinner for a reasonable price. I had the special; sirloin, shrimp, and choice of two sides for $20. I chose the baked sweet potato and salad. Where do I start?? The baked sweet potato came loaded with butter and cinnamon, the sirloin was coked a very perfect med rare; and the bread was a tasty butter honey roll. Candice was an attentive server who offered informative suggestions. I recommend this place when passing throughCoos Bay. ENJOY!!!!!

Server was super friendly and helpful. The food was average. I ordered an Alfredo pasta dish with steak on it. The steak was OK. The Alfredo was very bland, not much flavor for something supposedly made with Parmesan and butter. I added grilled mushrooms over the steak and they seemed like mushrooms out of a can that had been heated on the grill. The rolls were delicious, the salad was good. I had a cup of their prime rib chili and it was just OK. If I'm ever back in Coos Bay, I'll probably try some place new before heading back here. The only real pluses were my cute, friendly server and the rolls.

We just had apps here but they were excellent! The service was awesome and even with all the peanut shells on the floor, the place was nice and clean. Would definitely go back! Shout out to Angie who was our excellent bartender/waitress!

A group of us girls, 5 to be exact, went in Saturday night 4/26/14. We sat at a table in the lounge. There were two other tables of people already enjoying their meals when we arrived. It was not too busy for a Saturday night, i noticed. There was only 1 person sitting at the bar. The server/bartender on shift that night was a young gal. Now trust me when I say this, because I am a restaurant owner myself and I have been in the restaurant business literally my whole adult life, we got the rudest, worst service I have ever had at a restaurant ANYWHERE!. Not only did we get eye rolls and attitude but she made it perfectly clear that we were stressing her out. No we did not have any unusual requests, oh, maybe because we asked for our tequila shaken over ice....that's the only thing I can think of. Out of the 5 EXPENSIVE meals that we all ordered only ONE was decent. And it was the only steak in the group. I had the special of the night, Cajun cod with a cajun shrimp skewer. totally disgusting. The cod was way, way, way over done and way overseasoned to compensate for the overdoneness. The shrimp was way over seasoned and cooked to almost a crisp. Garlic mashed potatoes were GLUE. The only good thing about the meal was the salad....and all for 20 bucks....wow, bend over! Then came the bill.....laughable, really. 200 dollars for 10 shots of tequila (2 a piece) and 5 dinners....I almost fell out of my chair. No one in the group wanted to comment about the bad dinner because we had already spent the whole meal getting attitude from our waitress the whole time and thought maybe we'd send her over the edge. Needless to say, we all laughed about the whole experience the whole way back to our hotel and made a vow that we would never patronize this particular restaurant again. This all may sound harsh but I tell you it EXACTLY the way it was. If this was one of my employees treating customers this way, I know where she would be....FIRED!!!! So save yourself the 100 dollars or so and go somewhere else in Coos Bay to eat.

Stopped here on our vacation due to the great Yelp reviews. We came at lunch and the place had very few patrons. Our server, while nice, had no idea what she was doing (in her defense, I later learned it was her 3rd day). We ordered simple lunch item menus. It then took some time to put together fish and chips/steak salad. I ordered my steak medium, it came out very well done. I asked her to see if we could get it medium. She returned in five minutes with my steak off my salad because the cook had told her to tell me it was medium and I just was having trouble seeing because of the lighting. I said I would like it medium- I then waited over 15 minutes to receive a salad. My family had finished eating when mine was brought out. Having said that, the manager was very accommodating and respectful. If I lived local, I'd be willing to try it again because of her.

Best service and meal I have had in town that I can remember. Everything was awesome as our young waitress would have said it! What a treat, steak was tender. Done exactly as ordered. The clam stuffed mushrooms are incredible. Loved the skins in my garlic mashed potatoes. Real lettuce in the salad, no iceberg stuff here. Oh yea I really appreciate that they kept the old logging photos on the walls. The only recommendation would to be too have a family side in the dining area. Will check out the bar on my next visit.

This is my second review here and i must say that after a few bad experiences and my previous review, we were contacted by the management and they asked us to give them a second chance. The staff, menu, and meal were all to our satisfaction and actually way better than expected. Let's just say that if it was all just an attempt to bring better reviews, job well done. Luke is the man who made it all happen, so thanks Luke.

After a bad experience (and review) awhile back, I received a message from this restaurant apologizing, and asking us to come back. It took awhile, but we did return, and it was a significant improvement. Was much cleaner, food quali was back up. The only server on the floor was very busy, but still provided good service to everyone, better than plenty of other places with more staff. Hopefully it will remain consistent, we will be back.

The service was a little slow. But the wait was worth it. Just a little pricy. If you plan on eating here get ready to dump about 20 per person.

Great service, low quality "chain" food. We were greeted by friendly, helpful staff would knew what they were doing. The strawberry lemonades were great and the ambiance was homey. However, when the food came out I was not impressed. I had the prime rib dip, which was dry and tough. The two guys in our party ordered steaks that came out on tiny, overflowing plates.. it was a little bizarre. I thought it was kind of cool that we got a southwestern style restaurant in town, but I now have little desire to go back.

Great place, I came in about 5 min before they closed and the hostess was very nice and assured me that it would be no problem to serve me. I ate at the bar and got to watch Master Chef. I really like the down home feeling this place gave me, nothing like drinking a good beer out of a huge Mason jar. The only thing I didn't care for was the peanuts on the floor, I'd rather keep things tidy. My steak salad was awesome and I will definitely go back to see what else they have to offer!

We've eaten here many times over the past few months. The servers are very friendly and the food has been good. The last couple times, I've eaten the sirloin steak, it's very good, done just the way I ordered.

Last nights service was just plain hostile. This was our second visit to the Rodeo. Once in May for my birthday and the food was pretty good and service was good. I thought it was a bit pricey for what it was but most in our large party were pleased. My mom received an August Birthday coupon postcard for $15 off any entree so we decided to use it last night. Both mom and myself have had bariatric surgery so can only eat a small amount. This means we'll usually share a single meal and still end up with leftovers afterwards. Last night was no different. Only...since we didn't order any liquor or appetizers and ordered 1 shared meal, our at first friendly waitress Angela turned completely ice cold. We ordered the special sirloin with a balsamic glaze and caramelized onions, garlic mashed potatoes and the salad with raspberry dressing. Dinner was very tasty but the hostility from our waitress who clearly couldn't be bothered with a small tab dinner, was pretty much the end of it for us. We both got a take out and decided..we're in no hurry to return. There are lots of great restraurants in this area that will appreciate our business. If you don't want your customers to use your $15 coupons off a $17 dinner, then don't send them to us. I refuse to continue to be a patron at an establishment that makes me feel like I have absolutely no value and be treated with such an attitude. By the way, since our tab wasonly $2...we still left a $5 on the table.

This was a surprising find. The restaurant has a Western theme with good specials, 2 dinners with appetizer for $30. My husband and I both had great steaks. Others had salads and chicken that was very well prepared. There are peanuts on the tables and shells on the floors. The wait staff were running constantly but were courteous and responsive. Luke was our waiter and was a character, would recommend asking for him. Great rolls with honey butter, warm and tender!

Have always had a great experience here. This is where my hubby consistently chooses to eat on his b-day. The wait staff is great, super friendly and they do their job well. They have many different specials like dinner for two for thirty dollars where you choose your appetizer, main course and get dessert. By the way, the veggie kabobs are sooooo good.

  • Lik T.

The service is AWESOME!!! They are very friendly and would joke along with you if you are chill with jokes like me. Some food are better than others but overall I would say they worth 3.5 for the price. I like the prime rib the best, get medium rare!!! Other than that, the pasta and shrimp are really good also. The salmon was a little bit over grilled. So expect to spend at least $25 per entrée. Other than this, I would recommend this place to everyone for great service and pretty good food. :-)

My fiancee and I where riding south on 101 and stopped at the Motel for the night. The Rodeo was connected to the motel and were told we'd get 10% discount with our room keys so we decided to eat there. As soon as we walked it we were met and seated by a young waitress. We sat for a while before the young girl came back and asked if we had been waited on yet. When we ordered a beer, she had to find someone to serve us since she was too young. We ordered a steak for me and only a baked potato for my fiancee. We also ordered an appetizer. For almost an hour we sat trying to get refills or our food. We finally found the waitress sitting in the back counting her receipts. We had to tell them we wanted our appetizers before the meal. When it finally cam the spinach dip was cold. When the meal came the steak was tough and raw, the vegetables were under cooked, except for the carrots that were over cooked, garlic mashed potatoes were tasteless and cold. As for my fiancée's baked potato, it was way undercooked. The only good thing was that after describing our meal to a new waitress they didn't charge us for the meal. We were not the only ones this happened to that evening. Terrible meal and service.

We have eaten here a handful of times and I would say our experiences have progressively gotten worse and worse each time. For starters, our waitress Amanda just had no personality. We dont expect much, but not a single conversation was made other than her taking our orders. Not even a smile. She has been our server before and is always like this. Its just not a friendly atmosphere. Secondly, my husbands drink had a giant lipstick mark on it. He doesn't wear that shade of red so we knew it wasn't his! Lol. And lastly, The quality of food is very poor. The last time we went, I ordered the steak florentine with smoked mozzarella. I was pretty excited to try it but once I got it, it was a huge letdown! My steak wasn't seasoned but my biggest problem was that the alfredo sauce and noodles tasted like easy mac.Very overcooked and watered down that I hardly ate it. It just had that generic walmart boxed pasta taste to it. Good thing I had a $15 coupon for my bday. So glad I didnt spend $18 on a plate I couldve gotten from the frozen food section. My husband and I agreed that we will not be going back. The coupons are nice but not enough. Too many chances given, and in return we get poor service and poor quality food.
